What Unbound is

Unbound is a token launchpad on Solana where every launch sets its own rules: how the price grows, what trading costs, who earns the fees, when the token graduates and what happens to the money then. Once a token is launched, those rules are enforced by the chain. Nobody can change them later, the creator and Unbound included.

How a launch works

  1. A creator launches a token in the builder. They choose the supply, the starting price, the target, the fees and the other rules, and pay a small launch fee.
  2. Everyone trades it on a price curve. There is no order book and no one has to provide liquidity: buying adds SOL (or USDC) to the curve and the price goes up; selling takes it out and the price goes down. The curve itself is the market.
  3. It graduates. When the curve has raised its target, it closes and all the money moves into a regular trading pool on Meteora, where the token keeps trading like any other.

For the default settings that target is about 86 SOL, reached when roughly 79% of the supply has been bought.

What runs it

Every Unbound launch is a pool in Meteora's Dynamic Bonding Curve, a Solana program built by Meteora and used by many launchpads. Unbound doesn't run its own trading program: it writes each launch's rules into Meteora's, and Meteora's program does the trading, the fee splits and the graduation. Unbound is the launch's partner, which is how it earns its share of the fees.

What is guaranteed

For every token launched on Unbound:

  • No one can mint more tokens. The supply is fixed at launch.
  • The rules can't change. Fees, the curve, the graduation target, vesting and the fee split are fixed when the token is created.
  • Liquidity can't be pulled at graduation. Unbound's 20% of the graduated pool is locked forever. The creator's 80% is either locked forever too, or unlocks slowly over a schedule the creator picked at launch, which anyone can see on the token's page.
  • The name, symbol and image are locked forever, unless the creator chose to keep them editable (the token page says which).

These are rules about how the token trades, not promises about what it's worth. A token can still lose most of its value. See Risks and FAQ.
