Fees: who gets what
The trading fee
Every buy and sell on the curve pays the launch's trading fee, in the token it trades against (usually SOL). On a buy it comes out of what you pay; on a sell, out of what you receive. The trade box shows the exact fee before you confirm.
Meteora's program splits each fee the same way for every launch:
- Meteora takes 20%.
- Of the other 80%, the creator gets their share (0 to 80%, set at launch).
- Unbound gets what's left.
Trades made in the Unbound app also carry Unbound's referral, which moves a fifth of Meteora's 20% to Unbound. That doesn't cost the trader anything extra.
Example
A 1% fee with the creator's share at 50%, and someone buys for 1 SOL in the Unbound app:
| SOL | Share of the trade | |
|---|---|---|
| Fee paid | 0.01 | 1% |
| Meteora (20%, minus the referral) | 0.0016 | 0.16% |
| Creator (50% of the remaining 0.008) | 0.004 | 0.4% |
| Unbound (the rest, plus the referral) | 0.0044 | 0.44% |
During an anti-sniper period, or when the volatility fee is active, the fee is higher but the split is the same.
The launch fee
Creating a launch costs 0.01 SOL, charged by Meteora's program: 10% goes to Meteora and 90% (0.009 SOL) to Unbound. On top of that the creator pays Solana's rent and network fees for the new accounts.
At graduation
Unbound takes nothing from the money raised. All of it goes into the graduated pool along with the remaining tokens.
After graduation
Trades in the graduated Meteora pool pay that pool's fee (chosen at launch: 0.25%, 0.3%, 1%, 2%, 4%, 6%). It goes to the pool's liquidity, which is the creator's 80% and Unbound's 20%, after Meteora's own cut. Locked liquidity keeps earning these fees.
Network fees
Every Solana transaction also pays a tiny network fee (a fraction of a cent), which goes to the network, not to Unbound.
